The '''Piper PA-34 Seneca''' is a twin-engine light airplane built by Piper Aircraft from 1971 to 2019. It is used mainly for personal and business flying and for multi-engine training.<ref name="wp"/> In the U.S. there are 971 with a valid registration.<ref name="faa"/>

== History ==
The Seneca was developed as a twin-engine [[Piper PA-32 Cherokee Six and Saratoga|Cherokee Six]]. The test airplane was a Cherokee Six with engines added on the wings while keeping its nose engine, so it first flew as a three-engine airplane. Piper dropped the three-engine idea, and the twin PA-34-180 Twin Six prototype (N3401K) first flew on April 25, 1967.<ref name="wp"/>

Production versions followed as the PA-34-200 Seneca, the turbocharged PA-34-200T Seneca II, and the PA-34-220T Seneca III, IV and V. Embraer also built it in Brazil as the EMB-810.<ref name="wp"/> The Seneca II is the most common on the U.S. register today.<ref name="faa"/>
