The Gulfstream G500 and G600 (type name GVII) are American twin-engine business jets built by Gulfstream Aerospace. Both were unveiled on October 14, 2014. The G500 was first delivered on September 27, 2018, and the longer G600 on August 8, 2019.[1] In the U.S. there are 349 with a valid registration.[2]
History
The G500 replaces the G450, flying nearly 30 knots faster and 18% farther on the same fuel; the larger G600 succeeds the G550.[1] The G500 taxied under its own power at its unveiling and first flew on May 18, 2015. In the second quarter of 2017, 80% of Gulfstream's orders were for the G500 and G600.[1] A smaller G400 was unveiled on October 4, 2021.[1]
Both use the round "four arcs" fuselage shape of the G650, 7 inches smaller in width and height, and two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW800 engines.[1] In January 2026 EASA approved them for steep approaches, opening airports such as London City and Lugano.[1]
Key figures
- Range: G500 5,300 nautical miles; G600 6,600 nautical miles at Mach 0.85[1]
- Maximum takeoff weight: G500 79,600 lb; G600 94,600 lb[1]
- Engines: two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW800 turbofans[1]
Registered in the United States
The FAA register lists 349 of these airplanes with a valid U.S. registration. Here they are by the model name the FAA uses.[2]
