The '''Cessna 210 Centurion''' is a six-seat, high-performance, single-engine, high-wing airplane with retractable landing gear. It first flew in January 1957 and Cessna built it until 1986.<ref name="wp"/> In the U.S. there are 2,976 with a valid registration.<ref name="faa"/>

== History ==
The first 210 and 210A had four seats and a 260 hp Continental IO-470. They were essentially a [[Cessna 182 Skylane|Cessna 182B]] with retractable landing gear, a swept tail and a new wing. In 1961 Cessna redesigned the fuselage and wing: the cabin grew wider and deeper and gained a third side window, and the flaps were extended outboard.<ref name="wp"/>

Cessna built the 210 in 26 versions: the normally aspirated 210, the turbocharged T210 and the pressurized P210. The 210N, T210N and P210N were built in the largest numbers, and the T210R and P210R of 1985 and 1986 are the rarest and most expensive.<ref name="wp"/> The T210N and P210N lead the U.S. register today.<ref name="faa"/>

== Wing spar inspections ==
On May 21, 2012, the FAA issued an emergency airworthiness directive requiring 3,665 cantilever-wing Cessna 210s to be inspected for cracks in the wing spar caps, spars and wings; airplanes with more than 10,000 hours were grounded until inspected. In 2019 a T210M lost its right wing in flight, and investigators found fatigue cracking of the wing-spar carry-through that began at a small corrosion pit.<ref name="wp"/> Anyone buying a 210 should know the airplane's spar inspection history.
