The '''Cirrus Vision SF50''', or '''Vision Jet''', is a single-engine very light jet designed and built by Cirrus Aircraft of Duluth, Minnesota. It has been the world's best-selling business jet every year since 2018.<ref name="wp"/> In the U.S. there are 703 with a valid registration.<ref name="faa"/>

It has a Williams FJ33 turbofan, an all-carbon-fiber airframe, a low wing and seven seats, a pressurized cabin, a 300-knot cruise and a range of more than 1,200 nmi. For emergencies it carries both a whole-airplane parachute and an autoland system.<ref name="wp"/>

== History ==
Cirrus began taking deposits in 2006, showed a mock-up on June 28, 2007, and flew the prototype on July 3, 2008. Work slowed in 2009 for lack of money; in 2011 Cirrus was bought by CAIGA, a Chinese company that funded the project a year later. The first conforming prototype flew on March 24, 2014, the FAA certified it on October 28, 2016, and deliveries began on December 19, 2016.<ref name="wp"/>

In 2018 it won the Collier Trophy, America's top aviation award, as the first certified single-engine civilian jet.<ref name="wp"/>

== Design ==
The engine sits on top of the rear fuselage, between the V-tail, and the landing gear retracts. It is the first production jet built entirely of composite materials. The cabin is 5.1 ft wide and 4.1 ft high and seats up to seven.<ref name="wp"/> The G2 of 2019 raised the ceiling to 31,000 ft, the range to more than 1,200 nmi and the cruise to 311 knots, and added an autothrottle.<ref name="wp"/>

== Registered in the United States ==
The FAA register lists '''703''' of these airplanes with a valid U.S. registration. Here they are by the model name the FAA uses.<ref name="faa"/>
